The William James Center for Research is one of the top 4 Portuguese R&D Centers in Psychology. One of the goals and expectations of the WJCR is to become a European center of excellence for research and training in communication and sociality; cognitive, affective, and developmental processes; and translational Psychology.
The William James Center for Research (WJCR), founded in 2014, was ranked "excellent" in the last FCT research evaluation round. The WJCR principal investigators (PIs), who are the pillars of its psychological research, its national and international outreach, its advanced training, and its applied psychological activities, are selected based on the most rigorous criteria.
The Center's objectives are to:
1. aspire toward ground-breaking research and its applications;
2. integrate with researchers in other Portuguese universities and expand expertise in psychological science;
3. bring together fundamental research and its applications; and
4. maintain a highly visible presence in the scientific community and the public eye.
